Remember the time Mark Mathews and Taj Burrow simultaneously dropped into a giant wave at The Right in an attempt to capture a never-before-seen view of a massive barrel? Remember how they both got totally smashed in the process?
Well, ABC does. And they sat down with Taj and Mark to get the skinny on what many refer to as the most dangerous surf photo ever captured. Taj Burrow also calls the waterproof camera housing that’s regularly used in capturing beautiful surf imagery a wrecking ball. Hadn’t thought if it quite like that before.
“The ride itself was probably only 10 to 15 seconds long,” said Taj Burrow. “The memory lasts a lifetime.”
