This drone footage shows British big wave legend Tom Lowe paddling into a tricky one during last Tuesday’s session in Praia do Norte, Nazaré. After the wipeout, and managing to avoid being pushed farther inside, Tom didn’t get so lucky with the next wave, taking an almost direct hit on the head from the largest one of the set.
At 34, Lowe is one of Europe’s most experienced big wave surfers with a worldwide reputation and vast experience chasing big waves and hardcore slabs around the world. He’s also one of the most consistent chargers currently paddling into giant Nazaré.
