The Inertia

Well, the Pipe Pro is just around the bend. The forecast looks promising for a good start to the 2024 Championship Tour, and as is the norm for CT events, all the pros are in town to get their feet in the wax. Which means super sessions.

Barron Mamiya, Seth Moniz, Kala Grace, Ezekiel Lau, Koa Smith, Miguel Pupo, Shayden Pacarro, Joey Johnston, Kekoa Cazimero, and more were all in the water on the evening featured in Off Da Wall’s video.

It was a perfect evening as far as Pipeline goes. The direction was right, the winds weren’t too windy, and the talent in the water was about as talented as talent can get.

It’s a reminder to many that conditions like these are more of an entertaining venue to decide a world title at than Trestles, but the powers-that-be have spoken.

Seth Moniz looked particularly in-form — not that he’s ever really looked any other way at Pipeline — and it’s a sure bet that any one who draws him in a heat will be on their back foot.

The Lexus Pipe Pro waiting period runs from January 29 to February 10, and there’s a very good chance that the conditions will be very, very good for at least part of the event.
