On New Year’s Eve, me, Harley Rubinstein, and Jay Power spontaneously packed our boards and crammed into a van for a road trip. We were headed a couple of hours from home to go chase the waves that we predicted to be pumping at Point Impossible (just fifteen minutes short of Torquay in Victoria). We slept the night in hopes of waking up to perfect waves… and that’s just what happened! Before the sun was even up, the boys were out in a flash and I began shooting away.
We spent the day in and out of the water. Just surfing, shooting, and loving life. The color and mood of the day changed and progressed throughout the hours, having bright orange and yellow waves with gorgeous backgrounds and silhouettes, to crystal blue waves and smiling faces. We decided that this is what life is all about: Not having a care in the world and being in the water. Here are some images I took that I feel captured the feeling and vibes of that day… good waves, good vibes, and good people.
