These conversations explore how the daily lives and routines of pro surfers have been impacted during quarantine. My little series of talks delves into each surfer’s personal explorations during this unprecedented time. These are the Corona Convos.
This time, I spoke with Reef McIntosh, a pipeline specialist to the core: winner of Wave of the Winter and Wave of the Decade. His skills can be picked out of the formidable Pipe crowd from miles away, standing at 6’4″, a jaw-dropping sight to witness even when compared to the scale of waves he rides. Reef shares his insight into how the surf world – and the industry – has been affected since the pandemic began. He also discusses struggles with the shutdown as a big wave surfer, a family man, and as a global citizen.
