The Inertia

You’ve got to hand it to Carlos Gauna. The drone pilot, also known as The Malibu Artist, has made capturing great white sharks on video a way of life. He’s chased the oceans’ apex predator around the world. He especially knows their hunting grounds in Southern California. Carlos recently released this nine-minute video showing some of his best clips of sharks interacting with surfers. The footage is out of this world in clarity and quality. Yes, the man is an artist.

“Over the past few years,” he wrote, “I’ve filmed great white sharks all along the California coast. From as far south as San Diego to as far north as Aptos and everywhere in between. This is a collection of some of the most memorable encounters I’ve witnessed so far.”

Carlos has become a trusted expert, working with universities and scientific organizations to study great white sharks. His footage surely gives us a fantastic view into their home – a home we all love to play in. Just be sure and take your shoes off and use your best manners when you enter.
