This was far away from maxed-out Nazaré, but you couldn’t have asked for more perfect conditions. The winds were low and the swell direction was playing a perfect role in shaping these monsters.
Nazaré topped out at just over 60 feet on this day and we saw some really clean, fun waves. I was on the cliff filming for over eight hours and I scored some great shots, trying to capture some new angles and altitudes with the drone. As far as the lineup of surfers, the whole pack was frothing leading up to February 7 and the forecasts all actually held up.
