Traveling is as much a part of surfing as riding waves. Often, the surfing just acts as a vessel for the real experience—a fantastic vessel, to be sure, but a vessel nonetheless. It’s the people you meet along the way, the places you see, the experiences on that search for waves that you never would have experienced.
Take Africa, for instance. Jack Freestone, Seth Moniz, Ryan Callinan, and Ethan Ewing went there for waves, and they certainly found them in the form of roping right-handers. But along the way, they found themselves in the middle of a trip they’ll likely never forget.
