Surfing through the sunset in Western Australia is a treat. And this was a picturesque one, to say the least. Like several locations around the world, the onshore wind comes in after mid-day here to ruin any chance of a memorable evening surf. But when the winds do turn we end up with a gorgeous backlit stage.

This particular day was such a luxury. The swell held in the two-meter range throughout the day, allowing for the sets to hit the point just right.

As always in WA, the crew in the water didn’t hold back. On this day Oska Caldwell and Shaun Howe stood out from the pack. Their local knowledge paid off with their pick of the waves and always knowing just where to sit. It was such a good evening session that even the local wildlife had to pick some off, with some dolphins joining in on the fun.
