South Straddie has been having a go of it lately. Good swell, good conditions, and perfect sand make for some nearly perfect barrels. This is three minutes of epic drone footage that showcases one of the country’s best beachbreaks. “When the Gold Coast City Council and Queensland State Government built the seaway walls and sand bypass system, little did they know they would create one of the best beachbreaks on Earth,” reads the post from the Raw Surfing YouTube page. “This man-made beach delivers the heaviest waves on the Gold Coast and is well worth the paddle when the swell is on and the wind has some westerly in it.”
