There’s a lot more than I could ever understand that goes into getting a great shot. I do know that it takes a heck of a lot of work and dedication to capture a perfect split second. That being said, without ever meeting him… Thomas Henry Green works his ass off.
Tom happens to be one of my favorite local photographers. His knack for unique angles and stunning color gets me every time; it also helps that he works with many of Newport Beach’s most talented surfers.
His interest in photography was first piqued in 2006 when his friend, Cam Oden showed him his camera at a show Tom’s band was playing. It was a couple of years later, after injuring himself at the Wedge, that he got his first DSLR.
He has parlayed his skill with a camera into a profession in real-estate photography. My hunch is that his eye for angles is a huge asset for the Sadeghi Group in Laguna.
Starting with the Nikon D40 and later moving to the D90 (equipment he still uses primarily for water shots with 35mm lens), nowadays he’s working with the Canon 6d. His work has been featured all over the place from small and large brands to media channels and publications. Without a doubt, I am not his only fan.
The three images he shared with us above show a lot of versatility while sticking to a common theme. Now I’ll let his comments explain…
