The world title race between Kelly Slater, Joel Parkinson, and Mick Fanning will come to a dramatic and climatic finish on the final day of the 2012 Billabong Pipe Masters. Surfline is forecasting 6-10’ faces with some occasionally larger sets, and strong gusty ENE trade winds for Friday December 14th.
All eyes will be focused on the World Title Race, which shapes up as follows after two days of competition held at the Banzai Pipeline:
Kelly’s Round 3 Heat victory over Billy Kemper (18.33 to 15.50) has placed him into Heat 3 of the Round 4, no losers round, against Josh Kerr and Gabriel Medina.
Joel’s Round 3 Heat win against Kalani Chapman (16.17 to 13.50), and one sideed victory in Round 4 Heat 2 against CJ Hobgood and Kieren Perrow (18.10 to 6.20 and 5.83) has Joel into the Quarter Finals where he will face the winner of the Round 5 Heat 2 matchup between CJ Hobgood and Dane Reynolds.
