Tim Bonython, or Swell Chasers, knows a thing or two about big waves at Nazare. He’s filmed there plenty. After finally making it out of Australia recently after the pandemic shutdown, he booked a flight to Portugal to set up for the latest sizeable swell at Nazare. It didn’t disappoint.
“Big Wave surfing at Nazare is known in all its short history as a place where a team effort is paramount,” he wrote on YouTube. “To surf waves like this place delivers you need a team. Here is an example where support with Lucas Chumbo picking up Ian Cosenza was the difference between life and death.”
