My name is Warren Keelan, and I am an ocean photographer. I was born in Wollongong NSW, Australia, and I have lived by the coastline my entire life. It wasn’t until a few years ago when I delved into landscape photography that I realized I wanted to get back into the water after many years on land and capture visions which many non-surfers would ever experience. I grew up riding various wave vehicles in my youth and gained a huge appreciation for the sea. It gave me knowledge of waves and how water behaves as it moves.
I simply love the ocean and all of its liquid manifestations. I strive to capture split-second natural sculptures in the hope of sharing what I see with others in the form of ocean art. The ocean is my escape from the every day and I feel extremely fortunate to be able to do what I do most days of the year. Sometimes it’s not easy to get the shot, but when I do it makes it all worthwhile.
I have recently opened an Ocean Art Gallery in Wollongong NSW, Australia, where I focus my photography on unique perspectives of the Illawarra South Coast region.
