You know those days when you paddle out and see a little kid sitting in the lineup? “Aw,” you think. “How nice. He’s learning! Soon he’ll be hopelessly mired in a life-long surf addiction!” Then the kid gets thoroughly slotted on the biggest wave of the day, comes out with the spit, then jams a massive turn off the top? No? We don’t either, because it’s ridiculously rare for a grom who is Hayden Rodgers’ age to surf as well as he does.
