The Triple Crown is one of the most prestigious events in surfing. Held at three of the best locations along the North Shore, a win at any of the the stops is a coveted thing. After the first gem in the event was taken by Wade Carmichael at Haleiwa, the competitors took to the water in big, meaty conditions yesterday for the first day of competition at Sunset Beach.
