Spring at the Wedge is always a good time. Surfers come out of the woodwork to ride Newport’s mutant slab after their winter hibernation. And what happens? Camera men and women pointing lenses from the beach catch surfers getting thrown by double-ups, or slammed by rapidly closing barrels, or pummeled by crossed-up shorebreak. To wit, Beefs T.V. recently posted this gem-of-a-video: 12 minutes of some of the biggest Wedge wipeouts this spring. And some of them look like they hurt.
