Tomorrow is the three-year anniversary of Andy Irons’ death. It was an early, tragic exit that affected the surf world in profound and polarizing ways. From pain to anger to grief to repair, surfing has navigated a spectrum of emotions. In that time, we’ve heard many reflections on the loss of a three-time World Champion, a friend, and an expecting father. Today, we offer three perspectives to reflect on our collective loss as well as what’s changed in surf culture since.
