The Inertia

BSR Cable Park, site of the Waco wave pool that made headlines first for its air section and then for harboring a brain-eating amoeba, was the scene of a violent dispute at the end of June.

For those who haven’t had the pleasure of attending BSR Cable Park, the wave pool isn’t the only card in their deck. Also included is, as the name implies, a cable park, a lazy river, and a pair of enormous waterslides. It’s a BYOB situation over there, which, if you’ll allow me to assume, almost definitely played a role in the scene that unfolded.

According to reports, a woman named Ashley Marie Keith, who lives in McLennan County, was arrested at around 7 p.m. on June 29 and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault causing bodily injury to a family member.

Police were called to the scene by one of the victims, who told a deputy that he was sleeping in the box of his truck when he was very rudely awakened by his girlfriend, Ashley.  He told officers that she was kicking him in the stomach. When he grabbed her legs to stop her, she grabbed a rock and smashed him in the mouth. The rock, as rocks will do, caused “massive trauma” to his mouth, knocking out his teeth and busting his lips wide open.

When Ashley’s sister saw what was happening, she attempted to put an end to it. Ashley, however, wasn’t done yet. She turned and punched her sister in the face twice, then scratched her neck, before she was finally wrestled to the ground.

She was taken to the McLennan County Jail, charged, and then released after posting bond.
