There's Actually Snow Forecasted in the Pacific Northwest This Week

The Inertia

Yes, the 2022- 2023 ski and snowboard season was one for the books, especially in places like California and Utah. And with an El Nino predicted for this season, hopes are high for another banger. That’s why skiers and snowboarders are probably watching closely as the forecast this week is calling for snow in higher elevations in the Pacific Northwest.

“A cold storm system sinking down out of western Canada will bring chances for accumulating snow to the highest elevations of the Northwest during the middle of this week,” said AccuWeather senior meteorologist Heather Zehr.

Southern and Central Idaho, Eastern Oregon and parts of Washington could see snow accumulations above an inch between 6,000-7,000 feet. Yeah, not enough to kickstart winter but definitely enough to get the stoke going.

Temperatures are expected to be 10 to 15 degrees lower than seasonal averages, according to AccuWeather.
Parts of Wyoming are also expected to get snow, and maybe even Utah. Canadian ski resorts and resorts in Colorado have already seen snowfall this year. We’ll see what the winter has in store for us but this is a good start.
