Yeah, he hasn’t posted the dominant results that he did in his early to mid-20’s. But Shaun White, snowboarding royalty, returned to form at the Dew Tour Breckenridge this weekend when he won the Superpipe in tough conditions as an early season snowstorm blanketed Colorado.
It was a heavy field that included 2014 Olympic Gold medalist Iouri Podladtchikov (Switzerland) and Silver Medalist Ayumu Hirano (Japan)
White’s routine was familiar but on-point: on his first finals run he went with a first-hit backside air, a frontside double cork 1080, cab double cork 1080, frontside air, double McTwist 1260 and frontside 540 stalefish for a 92.60 that essentially won him the event.
“It was super impressive what Shaun did and how he handled the conditions,” Podladtchikov said.”You could see Shaun’s got the most experience out of all of us, and that really gave him a huge advantage today.”
