It may only be one lift but hey, the first Lake Tahoe-area resort is open as Mt. Rose will start spinning a single chairlift from 8am to noon, Friday and Saturday. For those who want to feel their edges for the first time this season, it’s on. And Halloween costumes are recommended to celebrate the holiday this weekend.
Lift tickets will be discounted to $20 for adults and $10 for those under 15.
Mt. Rose is really just opening for a little publicity, which is a good idea given the early season cold weather that has washed over the West this October. The soft opening is only these two days, according to the resort. Mt. Rose is part of the cluster of Lake Tahoe ski areas but it’s in Nevada in the mountains south of Reno.
