The Inertia

Doug Bradley, a surfer and finance director from Imperial Beach, California, was shot dead in the early morning hours of December 28th. He was 49 years old.

According to reports, Bradley was vacationing in Ixtapa, Mexico, for Christmas. Ixtapa is a well-known resort town on Mexico’s Pacific Coast.

While details of the shooting are still murky, officials stated that Bradley was shot sometime before 8 a.m. in the hotel zone. Witnesses stated to El Sur newspaper that armed gunmen chased him through a parking lot before he was murdered. Then his body “remained in a parking lot for four hours before police arrived at the scene.”

“Doug Bradley was loved by all that knew him,” Serge Dedina, Imperial Beach Mayor, said in a statement. “He was always positive, loved to surf, and had helped to turn around the city of Imperial Beach’s financial management as well as restructure city administration to make it more efficient and resident friendly. He will be missed by everyone who knew him and worked with him.”

Our sincerest condolences go out to all those affected by this tragedy.
