With all the snow dumping on the stretch of mountains along Interstate 70 in Colorado, the ski and snowboard season in that neck of the woods was already looking rather strong — at least at the start. But the early arrival of Copper Mountain’s 22-foot Main Vein superpipe signals a season that promises to be (hopefully) better than expected in that middle section of the Rocky Mountains.
The operational crews worked overtime to optimize on opportunities early snowfall presented, and the halfpipe (as well as the lower central park) opened to the public this morning!
The Main Vein will only be open to the public today and tomorrow though, reopening next after the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix starting on Monday, December 1 and running through Saturday, December 6.
What else is going on? As part of Woodward Remix Saturday, this morning saw the Yam Jam Rail Competition, and this afternoon there is a viewing of Absinthe’s newest film Heavy Mental.
