Useless? Maybe. But I’ll be damned if I’m not entertained.
The Nitro crew had their minds set on breaking the 2011 world record for the longest rail slide on a snowboard 258 feet. As Marc Swoboda, Dominik Wagner, Ana Rumiha, Žiga Rakovec, Benny Urban, and Basti Rittig do, they did it in style.
Well, not the first go. They actually failed that time — three days of “failed” — albeit in style.
This time, though, Basti needed only four hours to jib 275 feet into the record books.
That is A LOT of rail.
Definitely deserves a big-time celebration. Congrats, Basti.
