I grew up in a small surf town on a barrier island, so the sound of the ocean was my constant soundtrack. It became a sort of mantra — that endless rhythm — and it led me to a calm, creative mindset, and an enormous passion for our blue planet.
I love the moments of human encounters with other species – the shared respect and mutual awe. Many of my paintings explore these moments. There is a careful mix of humor and gravity in my art, with a hope that it reminds people of our delicate interconnectedness with the ocean and our need to protect it.
