I’m a firm believer that surf nonprofits working together can accomplish more than working alone. Here’s a great example of that happening here in the Pacific Northwest. The best part is you, too, can be a part.
If you’re in Portland tonight, the Second Annual Shaping the Northwest Event is something you should check out. From 6-10 pm, Warm Current and WAVES for Development, two Oregon based surf-related nonprofits, are teaming up again for the second annual Shaping the Northwest fundraising event.
The event will feature locally shaped surfboards from the northwest’s finest shapers, music, a silent auction and raffle items, refreshments, and a chance to sample some fantastic brews. Guests can also stop by tables showcasing the organizations and each shaper’s work. $10 donation at the door.
When and Where: Thursday, October 3rd, from 6-10pm – 525 NW 10th Ave, Portland, OR.
