The Inertia

Lily Meola is a rad chick. And if she’s not your favorite upcoming artist, she damn well should be. She’s the sister of one of the most technical aerialists in the game, who also happens to surf big waves and hunt big game, Matt Meola. Together, they’re an inspirational bro/sis duo. So inspiring, in fact, that we produced a fun short film with them titled “Holy Meola” and premiered it at the Vans US Open last summer.

The video above, though, is part of RVCA’s “Inspired By…” series, and if you didn’t know, it’s her track in the background. Girl’s got pipes, right?

It turns out Lily’s inspired by stories, which is à propos for a singer/songwriter. “I’m inspired by… stories of the people around me. My own stories of places I’ve been. Experiences I’ve had,” she says. It’s those stories she composes into the amazing music that’s drawn the attention of musicians like Willie Nelson. Again, rad chick.
