I always try to evolve in the simplicity of my stroke. I always try new materials to apply my language and passion for waves such as wood, mosaic, and painting. It is often the way I travel. My way of being close to places you’ve been or still want go – using art as a tool of expression and approach of feelings of being on a beautiful beach on a day of great waves.
Art has given me many joys, from signing projects with major brands like Billabong, Reef or Globe. Today I have the joy of having my work in over 40 countries, a joy for me to know my work has managed to reach so many people and places. Now I’m working on a new project altogether, which will be released later this year. I live in a traditional fishing area, with plenty of boats. And when these boats are retired the old wood is removed and burnt. This is wood with 30-60 years at sea, and many of them are colorful, full of textures, colors and life. So I’m taking this wood and drawing my waves.
I believe that the artist should always improve and evolve in their form of expression without leaving their essence.
