The Inertia

Sometimes it takes a while to figure out what you really want in life. Sometimes you never find it. I had to experiment, make mistakes, and be absolutely honest with myself to build my own dream life. I was born 45 years ago in Paris and now live on the Caribbean island of St Barth. I’d graduated college with a degree in business, and in 2000 I became a professional photographer. There were so many twists, turns, and changes along that road to finding my own way.

The same process directed my artistic quest. I had to try out many different concepts from behind the lens before finding what really reflected my vision and personality. When I started my business ten years ago, my main goal was to capture the positive energy of water and transfer it to others. This energy acts as a benevolent force – subtle and powerful at the same time – which can help in overcoming the challenges life throws at us. My goal isn’t to capture an image of the perfect wave for riding, rather the best visuals for dreaming. Even though the ocean is my subject, the aesthetics of my work belong more to the contemporary art era, with my pieces being collected by famous art dealer Charles Saatchi, who will exhibit them in his gallery in London this year.
