Willie Lindberg is a Swedish professional freeskier who has, without a doubt, put his time in on big mountains. But as with any skier who spends enough of his or her time charging avalanche terrain, eventually, Mother Nature’s gonna catch up. This clip recently resurfaced through the NUIT DE LA GLISSE Instagram page, a French company that produces action sports flicks. It’s apparently a clip from 2015, but no less impactful. Willie sends a heady line and the face in front of him breaks away. He takes an alternate route, it looks like, only to be blown up by the sluff running down another chute. It looks crazy, to say the least, but apparently ended well.
“Incredible that @lanuitdelaglisse has been around for 40 years making movies,” Willie wrote. “During the years I’ve shared some amazing moments with them, even if this didn’t go as planned…This clip is from 2015, last run of the season, in the end my skis got stuck in the warm spring snow which forced me in to that slide…”
Willie came out none the worse for wear, but it still made for an intense moment caught on film.
