It’s the season of descents. Skiing and snowboarding descents off the highest peak in North America, Denali, in the Alaska Range. But there are of course a number of peaks in this majestic region, including Mt. Hunter, about eight miles south of Denali. Here, a group of adventurers watch as a massive avalanche tumbles off Mt. Hunter, luckily only dusting their gear and supplies. It’s been a big spring out West, including Alaska, with lots of snow, precipitation and cold temps. And avalanche activity is still in play in the mountains.
