Alright, you probably know the cliche I’m about to go with: “Kai Lenny has dealt with avalanches of water his whole life in the big wave realm,” or some such. Well, this week he navigated an avalanche on snow like a boss. Kai is up in Alaska with fellow Red Bull athlete Travis Rice, pairing up with the iconic snowboarder as he gets ready for the final Natural Selection event coming up.
As Kai gets the go ahead, he rips a delicious looking slope before uttering a special word as the avalanche unfolds in front of him, then takes the pounding as he navigates the debris field below. The guy makes boardsports look fun eh? But most of us would love to rip snow quality like that, in terrain as joy inducing as the Alaskan backcountry.
