Climbing Everest has almost reached the point of annoyance. Anybody can pay to be dragged up the mountain these days. A dangerous feat of alpinism made escalator-like thanks to the all-mighty dollar, as clients pay willing guides to lead the way. And each year the mountain takes lives.
Well, this season, a group of Sherpa made sure the death toll didn’t climb (no pun intended). Ang Tshering Lama and a team of local Everest vets rescued a pair of ailing climbers and most of it was caught on video. National Geographic then re-ran this info vid that gets inside the guts of the rescue.
