The Inertia

This one had all the trimmings to make it fairly gnarly: Helicopter landing on a knife-edge ridge in Alaska, fading light, mad hustle to get the shot in steep, burly terrain. But Travis Rice and John Jackson made it look fairly routine as they filmed for 2016’s The Fourth Phase.

This little running POV (mostly, there’s a couple of moments edited for speed) you can see the high-pace rush to get the shot before the light fades on a gem of a face for filming. And the boys pretty much throw down on the one run they have left. Red Bull released the clip from Rice’s GoPro yesterday to promote the fact the brand is offering The Fourth Phase for free on RedBullTV free for the next two weeks (do yourself a favor).

“I’m gonna air off that one,” says Jackson to Rice. “You think that’s a bad idea, going underneath that cornice?”

“I’m gonna air off that cornice,” replies Rice.

“Alright,” replies Jackson.

Obviously, the fellas were down to send for the making of an all-time snowboarding flick.
