Kyle Wester had a dream. And while it was a lot less important than say, solving world peace, it was still pretty cool. The 29-year-old Denver, Colorado native smashed the speed record for longboard skating, likely in Colorado, but he won’t say where. It is certain he broke Mischo Erban’s record by nine mph to set the new mark at 89.41. The Swede’s previous record was reportedly set in northern Colorado. And that’s where many feel Wester’s was set as well.
“This has been a dream of mine for more than 10 years now. I’ve just been working my way up, getting better and better and finally this came to happen,” Wester told the Denver Post.
He took humidity into account as well as the road, equipment, wind—and avoided anything remotely resembling the wobbles.
