The Inertia

Here’s to taking the green commute to a whole new level. This is the Movpak, a backpack that comes complete with an an electric skateboard that folds out. The recharge takes about two hours and it features front and rear LED lights, perfect for traveling between park and rides or using on the train or bus. The backpack is pretty roomy for books, laptop or, a wetsuit.

The board is controlled using a hand-held remote and it has two motors that can carry riders up to 20 mph. It does feature breaks so you can control your speed.

The whole shebang weighs about 17 pounds, empty, and the pack features some technological wizardry: There are built-in speakers to jam out, a wireless phone charger and a mic so you can ask Siri for directions while you’re cruising. This is the startup’s second go at it as an attempt to launch in 2014 didn’t come to fruition.

The set-up is $600 bucks.
