The Inertia

These three fishermen were just enjoying a day on the Columbia River near its mouth at a place called Tansy Point when this motorboat got out of control and nearly killed them. In the recently-released video (above), you can see the crew jump for their lives as the boat speeds towards them.

The footage is terrifying but the accident actually happened in late summer. The 75-year-old operator of the motorboat was cited for reckless operation, three counts of reckless endangerment and three counts of fourth-degree assault. He told police that he couldn’t see over the dash and should have been standing. The owner of the fishing boat is now suing the 75-year-old man for nearly $400,000, alleging he was distracted by his cellphone. Regardless, the incident is completely terrifying.
