There are tons of webisodes, video series, and edits available on the webisphere. It’s difficult to sort the good from the bad. I’ve found that lately, media comes at me from so many different angles that I end up watching more short clips than long; only the first minute of edits; or simply scrolling past recommended videos because my attention span has been eternally ruined.

Five years ago, only the best guys produced and starred in media. But now there’s so much talent and so much accessibility in regards to cameras and editing that when you fire up a ski video, you really don’t know if it’s going to be day-changing or not worth your time. I used to savor those moments when I could light up my video screen to avoid work to get my ski video fix. It was easy to find the good ones and watching just one would get me through the desk slog. Now it’s like hacking through a jungle to find the little nuggets. A surprising reality, considering how good skiing and production has become.

Here’s to weeding through the mass of blah: Seeking Nirvana Pt. 1.

These Canadian lads have been crushing pillow lines and backcountry booters for years. The first episode is set in and around Whistler, an area that they all know well. Leigh Powis, the editor of the series, or at least the first episode, and directed the award-winning 2014 film The Recruitment and is one of the masterminds behind Super Proof Inc.

Keep your eye on this series. All the athletes and members of the production team are proven talents. For at least today, there’s is no need to scour the Interwebs depths for quality ski footage.
