The Inertia

Avalanche control in Utah is a different beast. When snow slides there, or the avalanche situation is so dire, people get an extra vacation at the ski lodge in a phenomenon called “interlodge,” when customers and employees are mandated to stay inside while avalanche work is being done (see Snowbird or Alta).

This video was carried by the YouTube channel of a CBS affiliate and provided by UDOT. There’s no location in the caption but it’s definitely a giant slide path that the public entity was controlling. Luckily it sounds as if they know where the snow is heading as it’s coming down the slope. Pretty gnarly.
