It’s not conventional, that’s for sure. But it looks interesting. This snowboard has been outfitted with a nifty little two-stroke motor in Switzerland. The motor is attached to the back of the board and then has what appears to be snowmobile-like tread to push the board forward. The Instagram handle, Eiger Toukka (below), documents the making of these little engines that can. Most of the video captured shows the boards going downhill so it’s tough to tell if they make a difference where it counts: climbing. But it’s a cool feat of engineering nonetheless.
