Remember when ski filmmakers would release trailers for their annual movie? Simpler times. Nowadays we have trailers for different web series installments as they release throughout the year. More eye candy for all.
Today, Seeking Nirvana released its trailer for Part II, and it looks like the second installment will deliver much like the first. For some reason, one word comes to mind when I watch: “Canada.” And I can’t figure out why?
In Part I, these four Canadian lads shredded the Whistler backcountry, executing luscious pillow drops and deep powder turns in a supremely-well shot edit (their cinematography is tight). Maybe this installment, entitled “Cabin Fever,” will reveal a little more British Columbian culture in between on-hill exploits? Then again, the song used in this trailer, “Big Rock Candy Mountain,” was originally written about being a hobo in the United States. They are ski bums. I’m reading way too much into this.
