Dude could flat-out shoot the basketball. And apparently, one of the NBA’s all-time greats ain’t half bad on a mountain bike, either. Take a gander at former Indiana Pacers guard Reggie Miller’s Instagram account and it’s clear that the TNT basketball analyst and a favorite guest of the Dan Patrick Show loves the sport. For real.

And he’s pretty good, too. According to a recent Bicycling magazine story, he rides an XXL Santa Cruz Tallboy, the only production bike he could find that fits his six-foot, seven-inch frame. He trains with pro mountain bikers and even races in the Sport division in California (he lives and rides near Malibu when he’s not on the road). “Mountain biking is such a very small community,” he told the magazine. “I just want to put the hard work in so people don’t think I’m a slacker. I want the hardcore mountain bikers to respect, ‘Okay, well he did it the right way.’”

Yes, the Hall of Famer is dedicated. His Instagram backs up that sentiment, too. It’s filled with shots of him riding the Southern California backcountry. And competing keeps him hungry. “I just want to have fun,” Miller said. “The best thing that has happened has been the racing. It brings back those juices, you know, your name being called in the starting lineup, and you’re competing. It’s a different discipline, but still, those juices are there.”
