The Inertia

Ski traverses can be a gnarly affair. Usually passing through great mountain passes, with multiple descents (and climbs), good weather is key. The Bugaboo to Rogers Pass traverse is one of the most famous in Western Canada. Last spring, Leah Evans, Marie-France Roy, and Madeleine Martin-Preney completed this 85-mile affair that included almost 30,000 feet of vertical. The trip begins in the Bugaboos and continues through the northern section of the Purcells, and ends with a high line through the Selkirks to Rogers Pass. It’s a big-time accomplishment for anyone to finish as it’s all self-support, with no huts to take the sting off during the journey. Mind over Mountain follows these three women as they complete what looks like a hectic spring trip.
