The Inertia

Now this is some seriously-good footage. The snow leopard is an elusive beast, found in the heart of the Himalayas and throughout north Central Asia. Like any cat, they’re pretty stealth. This particular shot was set up by GoPro producer Philippe Matteini in conjunction with the Vanishing Treasures program and the UN Environment’s Wild for Life Campaign against illegal wildlife trade.

The cat is pretty into the camera, and the video is ultra clear. There’s no description of where it’s at (it almost looks like Southern California) but watch as the cat goes into stealth mode at the end and silently slinks away when it hears voices.

Matteini has worked on wild cat films before as he was involved in the lion mouth cam piece, below. Snow leopard’s for their part, are rarely caught on camera unless they’re doing extraordinary things, like this crazy sequence from last year.
