Danny MacAskill is, beyond a doubt, incredibly talented. He has proven that over and over again with edits like “Way Back Home,” videos that consistently garner 35 million views or more.
And in this piece, “Wee Day Out,” he switches things up from some of his previous trials spectacles, adding just the right touch. In his latest tour of Edinburgh, Scotland he changes equipment, opting for what looks like a Santa Cruz Tallboy or some other dual suspension bike from the company’s offerings, instead of his usual suspension-less ride he usually sports in his films (although he did ride a full suspension in “The Ridge“). Plus, in one of my favorite touches, he gives a ‘wee’ nod to the Bog Snorkeling World Championships when he rides through a trough himself.
From reverse somersault trail riding, to massive drops at train stations, MacAskill has quickly become my favorite cyclist to watch. And judging by the views on his edits, the world agrees.
