And with some recent seasons lasting well beyond 200-plus days, that means tapping into both deep winter scenes and sunny days that gleam. So, get tuned up and dial your turns toward this sampling of typical Cali Goods. There’s plenty more where these come from.

Mammoth Mountain 

Wind Buffed Good Stuff: Discover some of the best snow and wind buff on the mountain at Drop Out and Wipe Out Chutes, accessible from Chair 23. Then, test your luck and spin the shot wheel at Tusk’s, where tasty Melon Ball shots compete with Black Death, a soy sauce and vodka shot.

Palisades Tahoe

Acres on Acres of Good Stuff: Take time to explore all 6,000 acres at these two distinctly different mountains – from Hot Wheels Gully to the high-elevation powder stashes off Granite Chief. Lap the steeps off KT-22 or Headwall, then hike Estelle Bowl and sneak in a few runs from Scott chair.

Big Bear Mountain Resort

Start with The Good Stuff: Kick off the day from the top of Bear Peak and head down Geronimo, the highest lift-served run in Southern California at 8,805 feet. To get your legs burning, test your skills at the canyons: Bow, Deer, and Goldmine.

June Mountain 

Pacing The Goods: California’s family mountain is well known for its wide-open cruisers and a kid-friendly pace. For those who want to take it higher, expert skiers and riders can hit J7 to access the steeps off the summit.

Snow Valley

No Hassel Views: Leave the car behind and take Mountain Transit from San Bernardino Station. After getting delivered directly at Snow Valley’s entrance, seek views from Mountaintop Terrace, where you can glimpse the San Gorgonio Wilderness, downtown Los Angeles, Santa Catalina Island, and the Pacific Ocean.

Colorado: Rockies Pow

The list starts with six solid reasons to hit up the Colorado Rockies – namely, its collection of six fantastic Ikon Pass destinations. Then, once you start digging into the scene, that list of reasons grows longer and longer, until it quickly becomes limitless. Yup, that’s the Good Stuff calling your name. Drop in on a couple of Colorado highlights that will inspire your next adventure.

Aspen Snowmass

Go Big, Be Bold: Treat yourself to Aspen Highland’s crown jewel – Highland Bowl. Earn your turns with a 45-minute hike to the top. After a summit selfie and some serious send in the bowl, celebrate with a signature raclette and Veuve Clicquota order at Aspen’s legendary Cloud Nine Bistro. Then, settle in for an afternoon of party-watching and lift-hopping.

Steamboat

Luck Into The Good Stuff: Once you’ve lapped Steamboat’s brand new Wild Blue gondola – the fastest gondola in North America – it’s time to get deep. Head to the top of Storm Peak lift and tap the head of the Buddy Werner statue for good luck before scouting out Champagne Powder® on Steamboat’s snowiest runs, Ted’s Ridge, Buddy’s Run, and hike-to terrain on top of Mt. Werner.

Winter Park Resort 

Feel the Burn: If leg-burning moguls are your idea of a good time, then there’s no better place than the Mary Jane Territory – one of seven territories with diverse terrain. Tailgate like a local at the mountainside C lot and lap the Railbender, Boiler, and Outhouse bumps.

Copper Mountain 

Go for Gold: Start your day like an Olympian and carve down Andy’s Encore, Oh No, and Rosi’s Run – all professional-grade terrain that’s part of the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center.

 Arapahoe Basin

Beloved Beavers: Tackle the tight, steep glades of The Beavers terrain that delivers deep snow and excellent sight lines for an ideal tree skiing experience. Then, top off the day with A-Basin’s signature cocktail, the Bacon Bloody Mary from the 6th Alley Bar.

Eldora Mountain Resort

Go for the Glades: When visiting the only Colorado destination on the front range, make your way to the glades after a fresh coat drops. From east to west, try Jolly Jug Glades, Gully Glades, Brian’s Glades, Salto Glades, and Moose Glades.

UTAH: Wasatch Wows

Solitude Mountain Resort

More Than Just Family Friendly Good Stuff: Solitude is as gnarly as it is family-friendly. Drop the kids off for a lesson, then hike up Fantasy Ridge, which takes you to Black Bess Chutes and Honeycomb Chutes, home to some of Big Cottonwood Canyon’s best deep powder. 

Brighton

The Good Stuff Gets Parked: An icon in the Utah Park scene, freestylers can spend entire seasons hitting the multitude of kickers and jibs in Brighton’s five terrain parks.

Deep Days of Good Stuff: With an average of 545 inches per year, this skier-exclusive destination delivers endless powder to enjoy all season long. Lovers of the steep and deep charge the Devil’s Castle area or skirt through trees on Back Forty, So Long, and Supreme Challenge.

Snowbird

Tunnel Your Way to The Good Stuff: Pick your way through mountains of advanced terrain by way of North America’s only subterranean tunnel, which transports you through Mt. Baldy. Afterwards, tour the Tram Club for a spirited après scene.

Snowbasin

Strawberry Fields Forever: Head directly up Needles Gondola to venture to Strawberry fields in search of fresh, powder-pillow perfection. This landscape is a local favorite and has plenty of open space with endless lines to explore. Then, seek the scene at John Paul Lodge for a sweet selfie spot and Bavarian dining that features an all-day waffle bar.
