Ooh, baby! The Hollywood elite have a sizeable neighbor in their midst they probably didn’t count on when they moved in. ABC news in Los Angeles recently ran this footage of a mountain lion captured by home security cameras (of which there are many in the Hollywood Hills). Wildlife officials believe its mountain lion P-22 because of its tracking collar.
The news outlet reported that there had been at least two sightings of the famous cat in the last few weeks. The lion is believed to be about 12 years old and became well known in wildlife circles when it made the arduous urban trek from the Santa Monica Mountains to Griffith Park about ten years ago, crossing over freeways along its way. This is the same cougar suspected of killing a koala bear at the L.A. Zoo in 2016.
