An April storm that’s predicted to be the strongest for California for that month in more than a decade is bearing down on the state as we write this. One to four feet of snow is expected in the High Sierra north of Los Angeles so don’t put away those winter sticks yet.

The Bay Area is bracing for up to 2 inches of rain which has locals in the region worried about flooding rivers. There is a flood warning for the Feather River, especially the town of Portola near the Nevada state line.

The state’s snowpack is at unheard of levels with many parts of the Sierra checking in at above 165 percent of normal, putting a serious dent in the State’s recent drought troubles. Needless to say, this winter has been biblical in proportion. “Our 10th atmospheric river has moved in and could drop up to 4 feet of snow and windy weather,” wrote Squaw Valley on its Facebook page.

The entire Pacific Northwest is supposed to pick up an abundance of snow from this storm, which will be prefaced by extremely high winds. The buoys in the Grays Harbor around Seattle are expected to read somewhere in the 21-foot range in the next few days.

This is truly the winter that won’t quit.
