It’s been a bit of a slow start to winter but things are starting to pick up.
Significant storms are heading twoards both coasts this weekend. According to Powderchasers.com, “significant snow will be falling over northern California late Friday/Saturday (Mount Shasta) and eventually filter into the Lake Tahoe region late Saturday/Sunday.  10-20 inches will likely fall in far northern California above 4,000 feet.” The site is calling for 7-12 inches over 7,000 feet in the Tahoe area.

The Wasatch, Tetons and Northern Colorado are expected to receive moderate-light snowfall into Monday.

The Cascades are also expected to get storm action this weekend and throughout next week with “several light to moderate events adding up nicely to moderate to heavy amounts by next Wednesday!” Washington has caught a few storms with Stevens Pass getting a foot Tuesday. Late next week is also forecasted to see storm action across the West.

Whistler weather reports are calling for 21 inches over the next week.

New England is in the forecast as well as it’s been a decent start after last season’s disaster. The northern mountains of Vermont could see 5-10 inches this weekend. The heaviest storms on the East Coast are expected for New York state.
